I earned my PhD at the University of Erfurt, Germany with an international analysis of the role of emotions in community building media. I received a Doctoral Research Scholarship for the University of California Berkeley.

I am interested in the entire spectrum of human emotions, such as sadness, grief, joy, empathy. Currently, I am researching emotions in the context of digitalization, esp.  in social media. But I am equally interested and have been in emotions humans feel towards others they do not know in person, such as Lady Diana, Robert Enke, famous stars.
